ABSTRACT
In summary, CoS-1 represents a landmark in cobalt-catalyzed PDH,
outperforming previous reported non-precious catalysts and even exceeding conventional
Pt-Sn catalysts, especially in terms of durability in
dehydrogenation-regeneration cycles. Compared with prior Co-containing zeolite
catalysts, this indicates that unstable Co contributes little to catalytic
activity but is the main cause of deactivation. The cobaltosilicate zeolite with
abundant Coδ+-O-SiOx structure fulfills the
critical requirements for industrial PDH: high activity and selectivity,
long-term stability under harsh conditions, and facile and environmentally
friendly regeneration via calcination in air. It offers a viable
and cost-effective alternative to Pt-based catalysts, representing a
significant advance in sustainable propylene production technology. The
underlying design principle establishes a foundation for developing next-generation
PDH catalysts utilizing earth-abundant metals.
