ABSTRACT
We demonstrated that anchoring RuO2 onto oxophilic MoO3 nanosheet promotes the connectivity of hydrogen-bond network and induces the ordered arrangement of interfacial water molecules in the electrical double layer. These water molecules serve as efficient proton-transfer mediators, accelerate the deprotonation step, facilitate rapid proton hopping, thereby leading to both enhanced catalytic activity and stability toward acidic water oxidation. -
